KTI ini bercerita tentang Gunung Lawu yang hutannya sempat terbakar beberapa waktu yang lalu. Maaf kalau dalam bahasa Inggri, bisa di translate sendiri..

SUMMARY:
Forest is the lung of our world. The most of the oxygen is produce from forest, and forest is water absorption. And forest becomes the main habitat for animals. However, now the number of forest is decreasing. One of the causes is “Forest Fire”. And forest fire is the one of the cause of disasters and environmental change in this world.
From this scientific researched with title is “Forest Fire; Trivial Disaster, Big impact”, the writers hope can know what were the causes of that forest fire, what are the impacts of that forest fire, how to stop the fire, how to decrease the number of forest fire.
There are opinion that said forest Fire was divided 2 kinds, causes by nature and causes by human being. On the others Opinion, Forest fire is a fire that happens in forest and could destroy agriculture and house of civilians.
Most of the land and forest fire generated smoke hazards, especially in the fire sensitive areas of Sumatera and Kalimantan Islands. Land clearing for agriculture and forestry industry caused the fire.
In this scientific researched, we didn’t use direct researched but we just collected information from many sources.
This forest fire that happened in Lawu Mountain, was caused by human activity those are some people produced of charcoal in dry season in the forest and was caused by global warming, the temperature of our earth everyday is more and more hot. Global Warming is because of the O? that so thinner everyday. The impact of this forest fire is impacts to ecological, environment damage, social life, culture, economic, health, communications and tourism. The ways to stop the forest fire are we used “gepyok”, it is one of ways to stop the fire with trees branches that hit to the fire. The other way made “ilaran” to prevent the fire to go to the other side. But, they still used water to stop it and we use police’s copter to bring water and watering the fire. Prepare the fire copter if there is a fire, we can use way that was used to decreasing global warming.
In short, the causes of forest fire are from human and because of the global warming, Forest fire gives so many bad impacts for us includes social, economy, healthy, environment, and the other, stop the fire was not easy. We use the police’s copter to put the fire of, etc. Socialize the people that live around the forest to preserve the forest. We must support global warming decrease program. Reforestation the burnt forest.
We hope people around the forest area can save the forest and do not do activities that although that’s so trivial but can make a possibility the forest can be fired. The government can help to prevent forest fire with make a policy about forest. For other writer, we hope can give perfection that better for other scientific writing about environment.

I. INTRODUCE
A. Background
Forest is the lung of our world. The most of the oxygen is produce from forest, and forest is water absorption. And forest becomes the main habitat for animals. However, now the number of forest is decreasing. One of the causes is “Forest Fire”. And forest fire is the one of the cause of disasters and environmental change in this world.
And in Lawu Mountain, on 26th September 2009 there was a forest fire that burnt about 1500 ha forest. Including forest areas in Magetan, Ngawi, and Karanganyar. Before it, at 2002 happened a forest fire in Lawu Mountain too that burnt about 1000 ha forest. We lost our forest. And that appear so many bad impacts for us. From this scientific researched with title is “Forest Fire; Trivial Disaster, Big impact”, the writers hope can give a solution to decrease the number of forest fire.

From this scientific writing, we hope it can give some benefits, such as:
- Some ways to prevent forest fire in our areas.
- Make us know that forest is the important part of our world, and we have to keep it.
And from this scientific research we know what is scientific writing, and can learn many things from it.
E. Assumption and Boundary
Our scientific writing just focus with research about forest fire in Lawu Mountain, like the causes, the impacts, and how to stop the fire.

II. LIBRARY RESEARCHED
Forest Fire are divided 2 kinds, causes by nature and causes by human being. Wild fire is caused by many factors such as high temperature from sun radiance. The second is caused by human activity such as making charcoal in center of the forest, etc.
On the others Opinion, Forest fire is a fire that happen in forest and could destroy agriculture and house of civilians. The causes are :
1. Lightning that hit the arid leaves
2. Human’s carelessness such as someone forget to put the fire of on the camp.
3. Volcano activity
4. Burn the forest for the agriculture activity
5. etc.
In 2003, forest fire had burnt 3,545.45 ha forest in Indonesia. It occurred in some provinces in Sumatra island, west and east java, NTT, NTB,and east Borneo. The losses because that forest fire was Rp.11.440.250.
Most of the land and forest fire generated smoke hazards, especially in the fire sensitive areas of Sumatera and Kalimantan Islands. Land clearing for agriculture and forestry industry caused the fire.
To decreasing the forest fire, now, our government have a device for detection and monitoring a forest fire quickly and it was donated by Government of Australia. Indofire was a collaboration project between Forest Department, LAPAN, Environmental’s ministry, Government of Australia, and Land gate( a corporation of West Australia’s Government).
The others methods that did by Control of commando from “Perum Perhutani” are :
1. Make a map of forest area.
2. Train forest fire controlling
3. Prepare the controlling tools/device
4. Monitoring the forest fire activity
5. Identify and evaluate forest fire’s causes
6. Analysis and give recommendation after the forest fire to KKPH
A. Research method
In this scientific writing, we had to get the objective and accurateness. So we used the easy ways. We didn’t use direct method, but just looking for information. We looked for some books that explained about forest fire, we used internet to get information, and we also asked to people that from related department.

a. Preparations
To arrange the introduce, include background, until library researched. We needed time about a month.
b. Collected the information
To finish this writing we collected the information from some sources, and we needed time about a month.
c. Discussion
We concerned about forest fire, especially about forest fire that happened in Lawu Mountain at 26th until 30th September 2009 that burnt ±1500 ha forest. We wrote about forest fire, the causes, and the impacts to us or to our environment.

To finish this research, we needed time about a month. We did it from October until November 2009.
B.3. The research place
This research we did in our school SMA 1 Magetan.We collected information from books and we also took information from internet, and people we know from related department around our homes.

III. ANALYSIS and SINTESIS
The Causes of the Forest Fire.
This forest fire that happened in Lawu Mountain, some people from related department, the causes are:
1. Most of the causes are came from the human. One of them is, produced of charcoal in dry season in the forest. The fire could spread to the trees in the forest because of the wind which blew so strong. But, the Government makes the rules that must not make charcoal in the forest. Since that, people who used to do that is decrease.
2. The other cause is Global Warming. In September, in this month in Indonesia it must be wet season and it must rain everyday. But, the weather were so hot and no rain. The temperature of our earth everyday is more and more hot. Global Warming is because of the O? that so thinner everyday. So many damages ‘caused from The Global Warming. We have to save our earth.
Some impacts that appeared of forest fire
There are some aspects that indication as negative impacts from forest fire :
A. Impacts to ecological and environment damage
1. We lost some species of animals
Forest fire doesn’t only destroy many kinds of plants but also destroys kinds of animal’s habitat.
2. Threat of erosion
The fire that happened on slopes of mountain will annihilated a number of plants that function is hold on soil flow on top layer, so erosion didn’t happen.
3. The change of advantage function
When that forest burnt, the function of water catchments area is disappear, and the water of the rain can flow to residence and become flood. CO2 can’t be filtered again. On a large ecosystem, the sun’s radiation can’t be absorb well, because of the lost of absorb function from the burnt forest.
4. Decreasing quality of water
Forest fire is not significantly to be the cause of a change of water quality. The quality of water that change more cause of erosion factor that appear in the upper course river.. The impact is the river becomes soiled.
5. Decreasing country income
The decreasing of productivity automatically influences the micro finance that finally it also influence country income.
B. Impacts to social life, culture, and economic
1. Disappearance of people’s job around the forest
A number of people that depend on their life from the forest product can’t do their activity.
2. Trouble in daily activity
Because the smoke of forest fire disturb people’s daily activities, such as we couldn’t see well.
3. Increasing a number of agriculture’s pest
The fire that happened to the forest makes the animal thrown away from the chain of ecosystem. In some case, it includes into people’s community had changes the function become pest that destroying the process of human’s production.
4. Problem in healthy
Increasing amount of smoke significantly as a main caused the ISPA disease.

C. The impact to communications and tourism
The thick smoke from forest fire also disturbs the air transportation. Sometimes there are some planes that can’t take off in a place because of the smoke that cover the place. And in Lawu Mountain, it also disturbed climbing activity to the top of mountain like Argodalem, etc
The ways used to stop the fire:
The fires were so dangerous. It burnt so large forest areas.
And we got information from some people from related department that forest fire happened in Lawu Mountain was stop with traditional ways. They used “gepyok”, it is one of ways to stop the fire with trees branches that hit to the fire. The other way is made “ilaran” to prevent the fire to go to the other side. But, they still used water to stop it. They used helicopter from Police to bring water and watering the fire.
Decrease the forest fire.
The number of forest in Indonesia is so decrease every year. Almost in every island happened forest fire that so to find the way to decrease the forest fire is so important. Forest fire wasn’t can prevented but we can decrease it. Prepare the fire copter if there is a fire, etc.
The others way, we can use way that was used to decreasing global warming because forest fire also was caused by high temperature on the dry season.
We can tell to the maker of charcoal to change the making charcoal places to the other place that is far from the forest so the possibility of forest fire are low and also socialize to the people “ Don’t play fire near the forest” because many case of forest fire caused by human activity.

IV.CONCLUSION and RECOMMEND
A. Conclusion
From the discussion, we can make a conclusion:
1 The causes of forest fire are from human and because of the global warming. The weather was too hot for September that had to be a wet season in Indonesia.
2. Forest fire give so many bad impacts for us includes social, economy, healthy, environment, and the other.
3. To stop the fire was not easy. We use the police’s copter to put the fire of, etc.
4. Socialize the people that live around the forest to preserve the forest. We must support global warming decrease program. Reforestation the burnt forest
B. Recommend
From this discussion, we give some suggestion:
1. We hope people around the forest area can save the forest and do not do activities that although that’s so trivial but can make a possibility the forest can be fire, and obey the government rules about forest.
2. The government can help to prevent forest fire with make a policy about forest, that forest is very important, and how to save the forest. And do reforestation to back our forest although can be perfect again before burnt.
3. For other writer, we hope can give perfection that better for other scientific writing about environment.
